CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The Scientific Committee invites authors to submit their abstracts for consideration and inclusion in the programme. Kindly note that Notification of Acceptance of Abstracts will be given 31 May 2010.

Please note that only ELECTRONIC submission will be accepted. Faxed or mailed abstracts will not be reviewed.

Preparation of your Abstract:

  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • A “blind” selection process will be used. No identifying features such as names of hospitals, medical schools, clinics or cities may be listed in the title or text of the abstract. Do not include the names of authors either. The names of authors and their affiliations (institutions) will be registered separately when submitting the abstract on-line.
  • The material in the abstract must be original and not have been published previously.
  • The title should be as brief as possible but long enough to indicate clearly the nature of the study. Abbreviations must not be used in the title.
  • The entire abstract must fit in the box provided on the electronic abstract form available at the congress website. The abstract is limited to 300 words including the title.
  • Do not use graphics or tables.
  • Check spelling and grammar carefully. Direct reproduction from your electronically submitted abstract text means that any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific data will be reproduced as submitted.
  • Use structured subheadings in italic font as follows:
    Aims: a sentence describing the purpose of the study
    Methods: describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects precisely
    Results: describe your results in a logical sequence
    Conclusions: emphasize new and important aspects of the study and conclusions that are drawn from them.
  • Use generic names. Commercial drug names may not be used.

**Invited speakers and chairpersons of scientific session are also invited to submit an abstract of their speech. These abstracts will not be reviewed and have to be submitted online by using the invited speaker submission link above.

  • First create your own account and ensure you have all information you need to prepare your abstract with the proper requirements.
  • Don’t wait for step one until the last day. We can help you with any question in advance.
  • You have click on the AUTHOR button to select your own contact information even if you have just logged in. To enter (yourself as) an author, please click on the AUTHOR button.  
  • Your browser has not JavaScript enabled. You will not enjoy full comfort and functionality. For help on how to enable JavaScript see the online system. 
  • Never use the browser buttons to navigate because you will lose data that has not yet been saved.
  • To access the abstract submission system with an existing account, enter your e-mail and password and click on LOGIN.
  • First time users, please click on 'Create a new account' to access the system. 
  • Click on TOPICS to select a TOPIC for your abstract. 
  • Please enter/copy parts of your text from your text editing program and paste these into relevant abstract sections. 
  • If more than 300 words are copied into the form, the abstract text will not be saved.
